The City of Asotin is located in Southeastern Washington at the confluence of Asotin Creek and the Snake River, seven miles south of the twin cities of Clarkston, Washington, and Lewiston, Idaho. Home to 1,251 people as of the 2010 census, Asotin is also home to the government of Asotin County. The county is one of Washington's smallest in both population and area: Its population was estimated at 22,189 in 2014 and it spans 636 square miles in the extreme southeast corner of the state where it meets both Idaho and Oregon. The City of Asotin stands at an elevation of roughly 800 feet amid the fertile grasslands that characterize the northeastern region of the county.
The small town celebrates a rich frontier history largely centered on Native-newcomer relations, agricultural development, and the struggle to retain its status as the Asotin County seat. Despite stagnant growth throughout the twentieth century, Asotin has proven tenacious. Today the tiny community offers a quiet lifestyle in a picturesque setting in Washington's "banana belt." Church In Asotin
1. Clarkston church
On January 5, 1898 thirteen people began meeting together in the Concord School House and the Methodist Episocpal Church of Concord, Washington was organized. The first pastor was Rev. Sargeant. In 1900 the town of Concord was changed to Clarkston and thus the church was renamed Methodist Episocpal Church of Clarkston. In January of 1900 the church held their first service in their new building located at Ninth and Sycamore Streets. The new building had been erected to seat no fewer than 250 people. In 1905 a parsonage was built next to the church. The year 1911 brought with it a church basement that when completed included a kitchen, socal hall, and three classrooms.

1. Quality Behavioral Health
In 2008, Quality Behavioral Health, a 501(c) (3) nonprofit incorporated in the State of Washington, will celebrate its 36th birthday. Quality Behavioral Health (QBH) has been in existence continuously since 1972. Originally, the agency was called the Asotin County Department of Mental Health, Drug Abuse and Involuntary Treatment and served Asotin and Garfield Counties. Later, Garfield County formed a similar organization in its jurisdiction and served ties with the previous mentioned agency.
Officially, Asotin County Department of Mental Health, Drug Abuse and Involuntary Treatment became a 501(c) (3) nonprofit corporation on December 17, 1981 with the official corporate name of Asotin County Mental Health Center Association. The next year the agency bought and renovated Dr. Galen Rogers’ medical office building at 900 Seventh Street in Clarkston, Washington which still houses administrative and clinical offices.
