Lawless Denim, Arizona’s first and only denim manufacturer, moved its shop into CityScape in October. “American-made jeans are better than anything else,” Acevedo said. “Lawless Denim is about really being proud of that ‘made in downtown Phoenix’ label.” Acevedo is a San Diego native who fell in love with Arizona and has become the first and only denim manufacturer in the state. That’s not the only thing that makes Lawless Denim special. Acevedo is committed to producing hand-made, custom-fit jeans with integrity.

5. Scitech Connect
Developed in the mid-1980 this is a finishing technique created by soaking pumice stones in chlorine and then stone washing. The term acid wash is a bit of a misnomer as no acid is actually used in this process. a Japanese word used among denim enthusiasts and collectors for the most common fading and creasing experienced from wearing jeans. a fabric that looks similar to denim but is lighter in weight. The fabric is woven using typically white weft and indigo warp threads. A heavier weight of chambray was often used for workmen’s shirts in the US and this inspired the term ‘blue collar worker’
this is also known as raw denim and is not pre-washed or distressed. It is often stiff and very deep in indigo color. Wearing dry denim over a long period of time without washing will mean that the fabric will develop personalized wear patterns through repeated creases in the crotch, knee, and ankle areas. It’s not unusual for some denim enthusiasts to wear their raw or dry denim from around 6 months and up to 18 months or in some cases even longer to develop their highly sought-after atari (fades).

Similarly a Los Angeles native, Jamie developed his love for all things design in his early teens. Stylistically influenced by his musical heroes – Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Tom Petty – leather, denim, and simple tees were standards always to be found on his idols and within his personal wardrobe. With a desire to find and study the scarcely available, mid-century art, furniture, and clothing he grew so passionate about, Jamie frequented the Rose Bowl Flea Market. There, he developed his knowledge from expert vintage vendors and buyers, becoming his own historian of Americana design. Through mutual industry friends, he was introduced to Sean.
Bonding over heritage classics and fashion as it once was, Sean and Jamie realized there was a major gap in the market for perfectly tailored, vintage Levi’s. Tired of women having to sacrifice personality for shape, RE/DONE launched in 2014 with the simple idea of taking the old and making it new again, an inherently sustainable goal that pivoted the fashion industry toward a more responsible future. After a tedious nine months of product development – creating one mid-rise modern skinny fit, and one irreverent, perfectly slouchy, borrowed-from-the-boys relaxed fit – the first run of 300 pairs instantly sold out from their direct-to-consumer site. A waiting list with upwards of thousands of people sparked demand for more, and so it began.
More than a denim company, RE/DONE is a brand with a mission - a mission to restore individuality to the luxury fashion space, to keep heritage brands relevant, and create sustainable, mindful fashion. Digitally native, we are proud to be thefirst luxury label that was born online and grown as an e-commerce brand.
